"Booking for pfizer"

About: St George Hospital COVID Vaccine Hub

(as the patient),

Hi there,

My partner and I recently booked for Pfizer at St George Hospital. Because I worked at dental surgery, as the household contact, my partner went through the booking system to be eligible for Pfizer.

Unfortunately we were stopped at the front of elevator by security guard. Been told my partner cannot have Pfizer as I believe the security guard suspected that we are not married even though we showed him our Medicare card. And also, I believe, because my partner is over 60.

Because I booked both of us in step by step following the government guidelines and got the confirmation letters from the system.

Therefore we talked to another hospital staff and security guards to try to get to know what’s the problem.

Then we’ve been told that the booking system is wrong, and also the St George hospital never has vaccination of Pfizer which only has AstraZeneca and so on which we feel we know these are not true.

It’s ok for us to be told because of the shortage of Pfizer, so we have to be vaccinated by priority order. We are totally understand what the COVID situation is happening in Australia. But definitely not what I feel are the lies.

Dear neptunemb65,

Thank you so much for your feedback about the COVID Vaccine Hub at St George Hospital

I am sorry to hear your partner was not eligible for the Pfizer vaccine despite registering. Although I am unsure how the registration system let this occur, I will be sure to raise the issue with our IT support team to investigate.

COVID 19 vaccination HUBS across NSW are ensuring vaccine usage is within the eligibility guidelines set out by the Commonwealth Government. This is why, unfortunately, our team could not let your partner proceed with receiving this particular vaccine

On a positive note, we always appreciate knowing any areas in which improvements can be made and I will be sure to provide your feedback to the staff working in the hub.

Yours sincerely

Catherine
