In my experience, the chemo unit at Karratha Health Campus is absolutely amazing and the chemo nurses, Tracy & Bridie, are next level awesome - they make my chemo day a great day.
These ladies make you so comfy, constantly checking to see if I want or need anything.
Anyone going through chemo/cancer treatment knows how awful it is, but for me, being around these ladies for the day receiving treatment you forgot why you're there and how crappy you feel.
Such a nice friendly happy place to be in so many laughs .
I had to do the first 2 months of my treatment in Perth and it was such a hard 2 months as I’m not from Perth or familiar with the place at all.
While the chemo unit and staff were really nice and do an amazing job, nothing against them at all, it was so hard being in a huge place with so many sick people.
I've never been through anything like this before so it was such a eye opener for me and it was a really hard, awful 2 months. So I asked my Oncologist if I can transfer and finished my treatment at home in Karratha.
It took a bit of sorting out but they made it happened. When I got the call to say yes it's all approved you can go home, it was the best thing I think I've ever heard lol.
Without this chemo unit in Karratha, which I feel is so needed & valuable to people like me, I would have still been stuck in Perth doing the rest of my treatment.
I will be forever great full to everyone involved that made it possible for me to come home. Especially Tracy & Bridie, I feel you make that chemo unit feel like we are all family. Thank you so much for everything you do, you girls honestly make my chemo day a great day.
