"MGP4 experience"

About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

I recently had my first baby at KEMH. During my pregnancy I was under the care of the MGP4, where I had the same midwife throughout.

I felt, having the one midwife and getting to know her, made the experience so much nicer then having different midwives each meeting. During the experience I got to know my midwife and have her get to know me and want I wanted during my pregnancy and delivery. Having someone who I already knew in the room while I delivered made me feel more comfortable during the ordeal.

Overall, I had an excellent experience with MGP4 and I hope that with my next pregnancy I can be with them again.

Dear Bluebird22,

I would like to start by congratulation you on the birth of your first baby! What an exciting time for you and your family. Thank you for taking the time to share your story.

I am so pleased to hear that you received such great care from the Midwifery Group Practice 4 (MGP4) team and that you were able to build a strong bond with your midwife.

Here at King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH), we understand that having a familiar face is important to our patients, and we acknowledge how beneficial it is to have a midwife with you who knows you and your desired outcomes for your birthing journey.

The Women and Newborn Health Service (WNHS) is extremely proud of the level of care that our staff provide and this model of care has allowed our midwives to provide our patients with continuous care during pregnancy, labour and after the birth of their child. We would certainly like to expand the MGP service for our families in the future as our numbers grow so that more women in the community can access care from the same small group of midwives

Thank you again for taking the time to provide us with your positive feedback. I wish you and your family all the best for the future.

Kind regards

Jodi Graham
