What was my experience with MGP? I was guided through my first pregnancy by an amazing team of midwife's who were there for me every step of the way, they helped me through my labour, birth and postnatal care and were happy to answer any questions and concerns I had.
I went into my pregnancy completely unaware of all the options available to me. I had thought it was normal to have an epidural or c-section and birth was just another medical experience that was over and done with, but it's not. My midwife Lolita opened up my horizons to all different options to make my labour and birth a truly unique and amazing experience, such as using water to cope with my contractions, tens machine and hypnobirthing breathing techniques. I can proudly say that with the help of my amazing team and the information I was provided at my appointments, I had no need for drugs and gave birth to a healthy baby boy who is the absolute love of my life.
I was able to have a positive birth experience and I know a lot of women cannot say the same. Even when things didn't go to plan and I required an episiotomy I had the support and information I required to feel content with the decision being made. Although births rarely go to plan I feel as though mine was the best it could possibly be.
I believe every woman who is able to participate in this program should, these ladies provide an alternative view on labour, birth and pain management that I feel has been wholly beneficial to my life, I would not change a thing about MGP's care and will go on to recommend them over and over.
