"Joining the program to learn strategies to remove my alcohol addiction"

About: Lives Lived Well - Woolloongabba

(as a service user),

At first I was really nervous about group programs. In my experience, the group participants were very kind and sympathetic to each other. I found the information and communication I was provided with and had access to, was very helpful and has started my journey on a strong path to recover from alcoholism.

In my opinion, the counsellors are extremely knowledgeable, engaging and empathetic. I have been a heavy drinker for over 20 years and now see a sober future for my self and my family. I am eternally grateful to this first stepping stone toward positive action. Thank you LLW team for saving my life.

The path to change our lives starts with one step. Thank you for your description of the first step for you to a new path of 'recovery' and 'positive action' out of a pattern of 20 years of 'heavy drinking'. It is good to know that your connection with Lives Lived Well's day program at Woolloongabba has given you a vision of a different future. My hope is that it has given you the knowledge and skills to take the next step as and when you are able.

Thank you for your recognition of the contribution of Lives Lived Well staff as well as that of other participants. I will make sure staff are aware of your comments.
