(as a parent/guardian),

My adult child went to Royal Perth hospital recently with acute exacerbation of chronic abdominal pain, and was there for a few days until the weekend. On returning home I read their report and I’m not very happy. How dare they put on the report that they are alcohol dependent when they do not drink alcohol. Yes, my adult child is iron deficiency anaemia. I think someone needs to apologise, I’m their parent and I’m not very happy with these particular consultants whose names I can provide. I believe they need to get their facts right before putting that on a report.

The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Thank you for taking the time to write to us following your child’s admission to Royal Perth Hospital. I was glad to read that you found the staff to be very friendly and helpful.

I am sorry that you are unhappy with some of the information included on the report your child received on discharge from RPH and I can appreciate that this would be distressing for you. I would like to offer you the opportunity of discussing this matter by calling the Consumer Engagement Unit on (08) 9224 1637, 8am to 4pm or email RPBG.feedback@health.wa.gov.au. This will enable an investigation to be conducted and your concerns to be addressed.
