"Treated with care and understanding"

About: Kalgoorlie Health Campus / Medical Ward

(as the patient),

I had memory loss whilst in the motel unit my husband and I were staying in.

He took me to Kalgoolie hospital and from the moment we arrived I felt were treated with care and understanding. I had all manner of tests including CT scan. Negative results but they wanted me to be admitted overnight so they could monitor my heart.

I felt the ward staff were lovely and did everything they could to make me feel safe and cared for. I was allowed to leave as all tests good but they made an apt for me to have a MRI back in my local hospital.

Suresh was the lovely person in charge. I felt she was friendly, efficient and reassuring, a credit to her profession.

Dear Pettitt,

Thank you for taking the time to share your story. I can’t imagine the stress and anxiety both you and your husband must have experienced with you having loss of memory while in an unfamiliar place like a motel.

Our teams are committed to providing the very best of care that is evidence-based and patient-centred and I am proud to hear that our staff made you feel safe, understood and reassured during your journey through our service.

I will most definitely pass on this great feedback to the relevant teams and I thank you for your gratitude. I hope that you are recovering well.

Best Regards,

Scott Jones
