"X-ray and scans"

About: Beechworth Health Service Acute Unit

(as the patient),

I was referred by Beechworth Surgery for X-ray and scans of my right shoulder.

The hospital was unable to provide the service and organized for me to be transferred to NE Health in Wangaratta. An ambulance was called even though it was not an emergency situation.

As I understand it, no checks were made to ascertain whether Wangaratta could provide the service at that time and date

When I arrived at Wangaratta some 4 hours, later I was told to come back in 2 days time as no appointments were immediately available.

I have now received an invoice for nearly $2,000 from Ambulance Victoria for emergency transport.
