"My spouse taken to hospital confused"

About: Flinders Medical Centre

(as a relative),

Ambulance staff thought my spouse was worth being taken in to determine the problem. I had a call from a social worker and described my spouse's issue. A doctor called about 24 hrs after their hospital entry which was in the evening, I explained to them the issues. I explained that I wasn’t certain that my spouse was taking their thyroid replacement medication. That was the last I heard from anybody in authority.

On that weekend, I get a call from a nurse who says to come and pick my spouse up. I did. So my spouse tells me they said it was their memory. Well maybe, but it could have been a problem with them not taking their thyroid medication. I believe a simple blood test will tell you. It may have been done but who knows. The nurse couldn’t tell me any detail at all. So, my spouse is now taking some medication but refused in the morning on the day I wrote this story. I will be looking to make an official complaint. Based on my experience, it’s difficult even calling them on the phone.
