"Covid testing"

About: Box Hill Hospital

(as a staff member),

I was asked to do a covid test as part of my furlough. I was told that my result would come back in 24 hours. I have waited close to 48 hours and no one has contacted me whether I got a positive or negative result.

This has affected me mentally as I am not sure if I have covid or not. It also affects my ability to work as IPAC has written I can return to work if I have a negative result. I feel like being left in the lurch.

Dear handsetrj78,

Thank you for sharing your experience with waiting for the results from your COVID test. I'm sorry you have needed to wait this amount of time and how this has made you feel.

If you are still waiting to hear, could I please suggest you contact the Patient Relations Advisors in the Eastern Health Centre for Patient Experience who will then be able to obtain your personal details so we can then ascertain what has occurred?

You can make contact by either calling 1800 EASTERN or by emailing feedback@easternhealth.org.au. If you choose to call please be aware that it is possible that the Patient Relations Advisors may be on another call at the time you ring and if so you will be invited to leave a message so they can return your call.

Thank you again both for making contact and also for following the advice and directions related to being furloughed.

Kind regards,

David
