"Giving birth with MGP5"

About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

I was fortunate enough to have a low-risk pregnancy which meant I could be cared for by the Midwife Group at KEMH. I was allocated MGP5 with Jess as my primary midwife. The service was not only outstanding but Jess made me feel so comfortable during the whole time that delivery felt like a bliss!

She always provided me with the right level of medical guidance and support when needed and kept a happy face at every appointment through to the delivery room. It was such a pleasant experience that I got to even have a laugh giving natural birth without drugs!

I got to meet a lineup of outstanding midwives as each person who rotated (to back each other) came, in my opinion, with the same high standards of professionalism yet friendliness. I believe it would be an honour to any woman who is able to use the Midwife Service to be on a rotational team as awesome as MGP5!

I couldn't recommend it any higher and this was my 2nd delivery to be able to compare such great service. Thanks to all ladies at MGP for everything!

Dear earthhn49,

Thank you for providing such lovely feedback about your experience with the Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) and King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH). Congratulations to you and your family on the birth of your second baby!

I am so pleased that you had such a pleasant, enjoyable experience throughout your pregnancy, labour and birth. It is fantastic to read that you were able to achieve a natural birth without medication, with the support of your midwives. I'm extremely proud of our staff and their dedication to providing patients with the highest level of care, and are equally committed to achieving the patient's desired outcomes.

The Women and Newborn Health Service (WNHS) has received such great feedback about the MGP program and our aim is to expand this service in the future so that more women in our community will be able to access the same small group of midwives for prenatal, labour and postnatal support.

Thank you once again for your great feedback. I will be sure to pass this on to our staff who will be delighted to receive your kind words. I wish you and your family all the best for the future.

Kind regards,

Jodi Graham
