"Lack of parking"

About: Northam Health Service

(as a relative),

What I believe is an extreme lack of parking makes things extremely difficult. On the day of writing this, I had to park at the bowling club and walk in the rain to ambulatory care department. Collect chairs, trays etc for my parent who is recovering from a hip replacement. In my opinion, definitely need more car parking!

Dear carinasw37,

Thank you for your feedback concerning the lack of parking at Northam Hospital.

I regret to read of your experience and I do appreciate that some days parking at the hospital can be challenging.

Northam Health service has a lease arrangement with the Bowling Club for staff to use their front car park so that patients are given priority to park in the hospital front car park. There is also a 15 minutes set down and pick up under cover parking at the front of the Ambulatory Care building and reception staff would be happy to provide any assistance you may need for future visits.

From time to time we do check that staff are using the Bowling Club to ensure we maximise the availability of patient parking closer to the hospital. I have asked the hospital’s manager to undertake another review of staff parking.

Thank you again for bringing the matter to my attention. I apologise for the lack of parking and the inconvenienced this caused.

I do hope your parent is recovering well from the hip replacement.

With best wishes,

Trenton
