A good friend of mine had a baby in GRH this month. It was an emergency surgery and unfortunately the baby was unwell. The baby had to be flown out to PCH. I was there all day with the family till the bub and mom were flown out to Perth.
I saw exceptional professionalism, genuine care and concern being shown by the midwives who were on shift that morning. I believe the manner in which they did their job was worth commending and was so refreshing. My friend is not a Nurse and English is his second language, but felt very comfortable that his baby and his wife were in good hands.
The care and great nursing the midwives provided was just wonderful. Unfortunately, as we were busy with the RFDS transfer and organising transport to Perth for the rest of the family, I was unable to convey this to the nurses in person, but please do pass on our sincere thanks for their exceptional work.
