"Exceptional Patient Care"

About: Broome Health Campus / Medical Imaging

(as the patient),

I recently had a CT scan at the Broome Hospital. I was feeling a little nervous I guess as I've never had a CT scan and really had no clue what to expect.

I was greeted by Alison who was a nurse in the Radiology Dept. She prepped me for the procedure and outlined exactly what would happen. When I went into the room to have the procedure, the Radiographer, Jo also explained exactly what was going to happen and what different things I may feel from the injection of dye. The procedure went exactly as explained and I felt very informed and comfortable throughout the experience. This was because of the fantastic staff.

Dear Hairypalms13,

Thanks for your feedback - it is much appreciated.

I understand your apprehension about having a CT scan. Fortunately for most people, it's not something they have to do very often. The strange environment, complicated equipment and anxiety about the results can make the experience very unpleasant for a lot of people.

I’m glad Ali and Jo made your visit to our Radiology department a comfortable one. I agree with you that staff are the most important part of healthcare and we should all strive to be fantastic all of the time!

I’ll pass your comments on to Jo and Ali, thanks for taking the time to get in contact with us.

I hope you are well and your interactions with healthcare professionals continue to be as positive as this one.

Kind regards,

Duncan Thorn

Senior Medical Imaging Technologist
