About: Kalgoorlie Health Campus / Surgical Ward

(as the patient),

I recently had day case surgery on the Day Ward Surgical Unit. I just wanted to comment about the great care I received, by not only the ward staff, but my surgeon and the theatre team.

Matthew made me feel very welcome and calm on arrival. When escorted to theatre, my surgeon, anaesthetist and nurse were kind and informative about everything they were doing/the plans for the surgery which really reassured me. When I woke up I was quite sore and was given adequate pain relief and care by my nurse there. 

Lovely Matthew and Tula looked after me on my return to the ward, both of whom were amazing during that time.

Thankyou so much to the team here for such an easy, positive experience.

Thankyou for taking the time to share your story about your recent experience at a patient on our Day Ward, which currently co-located on Surgical ward.

Matthew and Tula are very strong patient advocates and do everything in their power to ensure their patients have the best possible experience, despite their patients being in hospital and having a painful procedure. It is positive reinforcement and gratitude from our patients, such as your story, that boosts the morale of not only individuals but also the team. I will pass on this amazing feedback to Matthew, Tula and the surgical team.
