"Great physiotherapy program"

About: Osborne Park Hospital / Parkinson’s Service

(as the patient),

I received physiotherapy for Parkinson’s Disease.

It was very interesting and I enjoyed all the exercises down there. They gave me exercises like boxing, cycling, treadmill and 1.5kg weights. Each program was for 3 or 5 seconds and I think they could increase that a little bit more.

The staff were very helpful and I would like to continue there and I think they will give me a call in a few months about that.

Dear melonke59,

Thank you so much for sharing your experience of the physiotherapy program for people living with Parkinson’s Disease. I am pleased to hear that the staff were very helpful and that you enjoyed the range of exercises provided.

The program is designed to run for eight weeks, with a break, then a review of each participant’s progress. Participants are encouraged to explore community programs for exercise variety and social interaction outside the hospital setting after completion of the program.

While it is possible to re-enter the exercise program at a later stage, I would encourage people living with Parkinson’s Disease to engage with community programs to strengthen their overall wellbeing.

Kind regards

Theresa Marshall
