My son came home from a trip to Rottnest with mates. He had scratched his foot so we cleaned it up and put a bandaid on it. No big deal I thought.
That afternoon his girlfriend noticed his ankle bleeding and swelling so she took him to an emergency care place who did an X-ray. On the X-ray it showed something was in his ankle. Given that and being the weekend she took him to Royal Perth.
After a relatively short wait considering how busy they were my son was seen and it was agreed he needed surgery. As soon as a bed was available he was put in a ward. The doctor and nurses were amazing. So kind and helpful.
My son was put on a wait list and had his operation the next day. I felt the care he received from start to finish was amazing. He had his operation and was discharged that afternoon. He was given a very detailed report of all accounts which was invaluable to us as parents, as young adults these boys don’t share much.
A huge thanks to his girlfriend and her relative Sandra who works at Royal Perth and to all the staff.
Surgery is always stressful but I found the care was amazing.
Thanks so much.
