I was fortunate enough to be eligible for MGP care for my first pregnancy. This meant having the same midwife for all my appointments, labour and delivery. Having your first baby is a pretty overwhelming experience and life changing and as someone who is prone to anxiety, this is even more the case.
However, the quality of care that our midwife Mel provided meant that I was very reassured and actually able to feel quite relaxed during my pregnancy. When I went into labour I was so glad to be able to call someone I knew and who I had complete confidence in.
Having already established a relationship with our midwife was so hugely important in terms of being able to ask for what I needed and also in trusting her during one of the most vulnerable times in my life. I could not recommend MGP care more highly and wish this service was more widely available.
