"Care at Margaret River Hospital"

About: Margaret River Hospital / Emergency Department St John Ambulance WA

(as the patient),

As a result of bravado, stupidity and ego (in equal amounts) I had a bad mountain bike accident on the tracks near Margaret River. The level of care from the st John Ambulance volunteers and paramedic was first class. The treating doctor in ED was exceptional. I couldn’t really fault anything. The nursing staff were great, orderlies and catering were fantastic.

About the same time as my accident, I recall the Boranup Forrest bush fire was restricting access for hospital staff and in some cases, there was concerns for their houses. However, I believe they all turned up and did their job in a professional manner. First class care thanks.

Dear camelopardalisez86,

Thank you for sharing your story on Care Opinion.

I am sorry to hear that you had a bike accident riding our famous bike trails, you are not the first person to have come off their bike on these trails nor will be the last. I hope that in some ways that makes you feel better!!

We are very fortunate to have an amazing team here even when threatened with a bush fire! I will take great pleasure in sharing your story with our team.

I hope you are on the mend and also hope that you do not give up riding those trails through our beautiful forests.

Kind regards

Marie Tweedie

Acting District Manager
