This is an appreciation post to the Child Health Nurses from Karratha Health Campus and one in particular that stole our hearts.
We are first time parents of a 4 month old baby and we feel so supported by the CHN team all the way from the first home visit (when our baby was 9 days old), passing through his 8 weeks check and immunisations and the 4 weeks Early Parenting Group, and finally his most recent visit last week for his 4 month old check and immunisations.
That first home visit set the tone for everything that was to come and gave us the confidence we needed on those early days where everything was new. We received great advice that we remember and practise till now, not only baby care specific but also mental health and caring for us as a couple in this new journey. Now that we feel a bit more experienced, we continue to receive valuable information that is supported by other professionals and trustable sources.
After the last appointment, our child health nurse took the extra step to send us an email with a lot of extra information regarding a particular question we had and we couldn't be more grateful. Honestly, who does that lately? Just special and really committed people.
In my opinion, Karratha people are lucky to have this health team caring for their children. We will truly miss them when we leave town. Thank you, we will never forget you!
"CHN for the win"
