"COVID testing on a child"

About: Casterton Memorial Hospital

(as a parent/guardian),

My 4 year old child required a COVID test to be able to return to day care. Upon arrival at the Casterton Memorial Hospital COVID testing centre we were greeted by nurse Paula, who immediately put both myself and my child at ease. She explained everything she was doing in simple terms that my child understood and even had them smiling. The handmade gift received by my child absolutely won them over.

Thank you Paula for being a kind and caring nurse.

Dear runningfw66,

Thankyou so much for your time to provide feedback about Casterton Memorial Hospital and the care provided to your child. I apologise for the delay in responding due to some technical issues.

COVID-19 testing has been a part of many children's lives over the last couple of year's and it is great to hear that this needed test was undertaken so kindly. I will pass on the positive feedback to Paula the nurse. We are also very grateful to our strong volunteer Knit and Knatter group who went out of their way to knit little gifts to distract children during this procedure.

Once again thankyou for your kind words.

Mary-Anne Betson
