Late last year, I had a fall where I fractured my humerus and was admitted to hospital for about 2 weeks. Then, around a couple weeks later, I had another fall and was readmitted into hospital where I developed cellulitis during my stay. I was released from hospital around a month later and given 12 weeks with the TACP team; Stacey, Kim, Belinda and Ally. I was visited 3 times a week which included being checked over, physio appointments, exercises, taking me for a walk. After 3 weeks, I could completely shower on my own. I was self-motivated and given the all-clear recently.
I would never have been able to do any of this without their help. They pushed me to do things such as to get in my car, walk around without my walker and only use it as necessary. I believe they’re a very strong hospital, short staffed, but still provide a high standard of care and support. I passed all their criteria and finished the program 2 weeks early. I am now back to driving. I could never have achieved this without the care from Stacey, Kim, Belinda and Ally.
