"Minor day surgery"

I had to undergo some minor surgery at the Mt Beauty Hospital to remove a lipoma from my shoulder/neck area. This was the first time I had been in a hospital as a patient and although I had been in a hospital many times with others, I was always on the other side of the fence so to speak.

The nurses at the Mt Beauty Hospital were fantastic. They were talking to me all the time and explaining what was happening especially as I told them this was my first time. We were joking and laughing and I also had a student nurse that attached me for the surgery and she was looked after by a more experienced nurse. I must admit that I was a bit apprehensive going in, but the nurses made is much more tolerable by making me feel at ease. I still remember coming out of the anaesthetic and opening my eyes to see a nurses big eyes staring back at me. In my opinion, these ladies are worth their weight in gold and part of the whole surgical team they did a fantastic job, well done ladies.
