While visiting Coral Bay, WA on a snorkelling holiday, I was bitten by something while walking back from dinner at 8pm. We weren't sure what it was and it was very painful. We rang the nursing station at Coral Bay and were advised to come in and treat it as a snake bite, which we suspected may be the case.
The after hours nurse met us at the nursing station and immediately began to treat the wound as a snake bite. I was bandaged, and received telemed doctor consult, then evacuated by RFDS to Broome Hospital where I was monitored and stayed overnight. Throughout the entire ordeal I felt that I was in good hands, that all medical staff were professional, highly qualified and skilled. The nurse in Coral Bay was Chris and she did a great job keeping me calm and managing the telemed consult and RFDS evacuation.
My compliments to Chris and to the staff at Broome Hospital who were attentive, kind, generous and cheerful. PS, the food at Broome Hospital is home made I believe, and better than you get at other hospitals in my opinion.
