"Well done to the ED team at SHDH"

About: Swan Hill District Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a parent/guardian),

I recently attended SHDH with my young child following a contact burn to his hand. I was triaged quickly by the nurse and followed up by Dr. Emily and the medical team. They sought advice from the Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) and attended to my son's wound. The team was extremely caring and ensured my son was comfortable and distracted through the procedure and dressing of the burn.

A referral was sent onto the burns clinic at the RCH, who contacted me the same day for follow up. The specialist team commented on how well the burn had been attended to in Swan Hill.

Well done to the ED team at SHDH. What a great service we have locally.

Dear Happy consumer,

Thank you for taking the time to write about your young child's injury and treatment and care at SHDH ED. This morning the CEO was leading the morning catch up (muster) with the 50 managers across the facility, and he read your story out to the whole team reminding them of the great care that was provided and thanking everyone for what they do each day, using your story as a great example of what we try to always do.

I am especially delighted that you felt the connection with the RCH burns clinic, as "Connected Care, Best Experience" is what we always try to achieve here, and I like that you were connected to the RCH for the support and assessment.

I do hope that your child's injury is healing, and that Easter bunny managed to find your house last weekend.

Kind Regards,

Chloe
