"Treatment after throat cancer"

About: Northam Health Service

(as the patient),

Having had massive throat surgery where side of face opened up and jaw cut so surgeon's hands could operate, I believe.

After effects of this were drastic. I cannot eat solid food anymore and at the opposite end of the scale cannot drink pure fluid i.e. like water it can go down into the lungs, so all food is blended to a creamy consistency.

The dietician Lynn at Northam Hospital has been wonderful to me with continued advice how to handle various food types.

Dear authenticbk74

Thank you for taking the time to tell us your story, having to have such an invasive surgery with impact on what you now can and cannot eat must be very difficult.

I am pleased to hear that Lynne, our Senior Dietitian, was able to provide you with professional advice and support to navigate what type of food and consistency is best for your condition. I will take great pleasure in passing on your compliment to Lynne.

With best wishes for your recovery.
