"Home birth support from MGP midwives"

About: Bunbury Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

We had the most amazing home birth and this experience was by far the best moment in our life. Midwives were so amazing! We had Leanne for our midwife and Jo was at birth. We had a beautiful pool birth. I never imagined giving birth would be so exciting and beautiful and we have you to thank for that. I never knew there was an option to do home birth and the classes helped me so much to feel relaxed and excited about everything instead of being scared.

We had few failed IVF's & ICSI's and somehow we fell pregnant naturally after we gave up.

This program made me feel more in control, I felt no pressure to use medications, more support and individualised care than in a hospital I believe, I also felt strong, proud, loved, secure, supported, happy and relaxed.

Surges started around 4 am and our beautiful baby boy came at 2.45 pm. I didn’t use any medication. I was in the pool from 12pm till my baby boy came to this world. I really loved pool birth. Water relaxed me and I felt so secure and in good hands with my midwife Jo and my husband who was huge support. It was an amazing feeling to share this with my partner and keep him involved and part of it. It was great to be in my bed with our baby after birth. Leanne helped me a lot after baby was born. I believe that if it weren’t for her, I don’t know how I would breastfeed. Our family being so far away and us alone in WA I was really worried. I am so grateful for midwives and whole program. All I can say is, I can’t wait to go through this again if we would ever have that chance again. I wouldn't change a thing.

Once again, Thank you for everything.

Kind regards

Congratulations on the birth of your baby browserhp57!

What a beautiful and empowered birth story you have to share. Thank you.

I am so proud that the Positive Birth Program through Telehealth WACHS was able to support your birth journey.

As we mention regularly throughout the program, feeling supported by your birthing team is one of the key ingredients to a positive birthing experience and you have resonated this sentiment beautifully. We are so lucky to have such caring and knowledgeable midwives in Bunbury and Jo and Leanne will be proud to have shared your journey.

Home birth is often not considered an option for birth yet for low risk women is certainly a safe place where you can feel calm, safe and unobserved - key factors to help support physiological birth. I am glad you were able to make this choice for you and your family.

Thank you again for sharing and inspiring others.

Warm Regards,

Kasey
