"Ongoing care"

About: Lochiel House Waratah Lodge

(as the patient),

In 2017 I became medically unwell, I was no longer able to be a carer for my wife. Lochiel House is a small aged care facility in our local area and I admitted my wife for respite and then for permanent care.

I received services from Orbost Regional Health at home and visits from District nurses to help me manage at home.

In early 2022, my health deteriorated and it became an effort for me to complete small jobs at home and I was not looking after myself. Having seen the care and tenderness that my wife had received at both Lochiel House and Waratah Lodge, I made contact and was admitted for respite with the view to becoming a permanent resident.

Correct Decision? Yes

Regrets? None

Dear Eternally Grateful,

My name is Carol and I am one of the Team Leaders at Lochiel House, I also work as a work nurse at Waratah lodge. I would like to thank you for taking the time to tell your story. We are so happy to hear that your wife was well cared for here, as we strive to provide a home-like environment and the residents are like family to us. We are pleased that you were comfortable enough to also take up care within our facility, and appreciate your positive feedback.

I will ensure your feedback is passed on to our staff.

Kind regards,

Carol
