My aunt is in her late 70's and was recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s and was referred to Robert the Older Persons Nurse Practitioner at Wonthaggi. My aunt referred to having struck gold there with Robert.
I was not there for the previous appointments that my aunt had with him and rang to enquire about what was happening. I left a message and Robert called back shortly later and spent over 1/2 an hour going over what he had gone through with and referrals that he could potentially make.
Robert then later called my aunt and made another appointment with her. This time I went along and he was thorough and it was not rushed (appointment went for over an hour). It was a relief to have information and have it respectfully explained without being rushed into a 10 minute consultation where you don’t get time to have questions answered.
He has since included me in the loop with all referrals and has been very responsive in finding out and providing information. I feel it is so lovely and reassuring to know that such a service exists and that BCH have a professional, respectful and warm person in that role.
Thank you.
