About: Bunbury Hospital / Surgical Ward

(as a service user),

I was a very unwell patient on Bunbury Surgical Ward and I know how time consuming my care was for the nurses who looked after me. I would like to show extra appreciation for the nurse Ella who gave me exceptional care on night shift. As a nurse I know how much was involved in my care and especially on a long nightshift. I had many nurses at different hospitals and Ella was a huge stand out. Definitely requires a pat on the back. 

I also spent nights in DPU and had a very negative experience with another nurse whom it seemed most things were an inconvenience for.

My name is Ellen and I am the Nurse Unit Manager for the Surgical Ward.

I received some similar feedback for Ella last week and immediately shared these wonderful thoughts with her. Possibly this was from yourself.

Ella has always been a calm, caring and competent nurse and I am so glad that the care she gave you was a stand out. Ella would be the first to say that, on the Surgical Ward, it is the whole team, working together, that empowers individual staff to deliver great care.

I am sorry that this care did not extend to the whole of your stay.
