"Allow dads to attend to pregnancy appointments"

About: King Edward Memorial Hospital / Family Birth Centre

(as a relative),

I'm about to have my very first newborn child. As I understand it, I can't be present with my partner to any pregnancy appointment with midwife, nursery, doctor or ultrasounds due to COVID restrictions.

Please listen to this humanitarian call: please put requirements not restrictions. I'm triple vaccinated happy to have my fourth one if eligible. Happy to do PCR day before in addition to RAT before the appointment. Happy to use surgical mask combined with acrylic face mask and gloves and alcohol gel and any other requirement. Not a problem. But please, don't take these moments that shape us as human beings from me.

Please let's increase mans responsibility and contribution on pregnancy for a more equalitarian and respectful society with woman.

I already lost all ultrasounds, I could not hear the sound of my

child’s heart, couldn’t see them neither hold my partner's hand when she was bleeding and being analysed by nurses and doctors, having to absorb all content and answer all questions all by herself.

Kindly consider with love this humanitarian call from a father to be, to all future fathers, for what I feel is a better society post COVID.
