My child arrived on crutches for a CT scan, we went to level 2 then we were sent to level 0 then back to level 2 with a piece of paper (the form).
The form was incorrectly completed and not checked by hospital staff so my child fronted up for an X-ray they had 2 days ago instead of the CT scan.
Then we had to sit and get the correct form and then again act as human envoys transporting the paper work between floors. Outpatients apparently don’t believe in digital forms preferring to shunt patients around (never mind if they have a fractured foot)!
Hospital staff tell me this bungling happens multiple times a day. This may sound trivial but rather I say it’s indicative of greater issues.
Why, why, why? We are in a technological society, why are we using paper? A digital form could save paper and patient’s discomfort. I am most unhappy and dissatisfied and left to wonder if basic paperwork is handled in this fashion how ever is critically ill patient’s paperwork handled.
Come on, act smart! Purge the hard copy form and go digital. I feel this is shameful!
We have been here for hours wandering up and down hospital floors and different departments.
