About: Lives Lived Well - Mackay

(as a service user),

I was in an abusive relationship and for the past three years I have been learning how to live a life free from abuse. This has involved being in other abusive relationships. I have learnt there is a direct connect between abuse and substance abuse/mental health conditions like depression and anxiety. 

Lives Lived Well have been essential in my survival and recovery.

Thank you for letting us know how your treatment at Mackay has helped you. It is so encouraging that you now have the knowledge and tools to live without abuse in your life. Domestic violence, mental health, drug and alcohol use and previous trauma all contribute to the way we live and face the world - but with education and the will to overcome them, people can live happy successful lives.
