"Recovery from a dog bite"

About: Kalgoorlie Health Campus / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I was attacked and bitten by a large dog, leaving me with a skin deficit in my forearm, now after a couple of operations, a skin graft and 6 weeks or so of recovery, at the time of writing this I’m at the end of my healing process.

It was a time critical surgery, the nursing staff were fantastic and the surgeons were brilliant. I found the outpatients after care was phenomenal. There was nothing to improve, it was a positive experience for me. I felt very well cared for with a fantastic outcome.

Dear bluett75,

Thanks so much for taking the time to tell us your story. I am so glad that you are now healing well.

It is particularly pleasing to receive positive feedback that shows our teams working collaboratively and communicating across departments. I was so happy to be able to pass this on to our team – and I can tell you it made their day!

If there is anything else that we can ever help with please don’t hesitate to reach out to me on 9080 5817 or Alicia.Michalanney@health.wa.gov.au.

Kind regards,

Alicia
