I write this letter as gratitude & recognition for the high level of care, guidance and support though my recovery process.
I have made several attempts at recovery in the past with no success. The last 7 years of my life has been filled with misfortune, relapse, homelessness, rejection, grief, loneliness and abandonment. I began my journey last year with real uncertainty of my future, checking into the watershed for a 4 week detox. Whilst attending the watershed for detox I enquired with the carinya coordinator about the possibility of accessing carinya transitional house after I completed the 16 weeks DBT program at Kedesh. Finding out that I was accepted for carinya whilst at Kedesh meant the world to me.
I have recently completed the program and have clean time of over 15 months. I speak very highly of the program, the facilitators, and staff for giving me the opportunity to work on myself provide the support to work on underlying issues that were yielding barriers to me to cope with everyday pressures of life leading me to substance use.
Since entering the program, I have been able to achieve things that I would have never been able to achieve in addiction, including obtaining a housing property.
Thank you to all staff for their care and empathy.
