Mid-afternoon, approximately my child was rushed to Casey emergency departure with what seemed a serious case of stomach aches which they were not able to breathe or even sit on a chair which made it worse . They were screaming and crying from pain but were not treated as an emergency but made to wait even after other patients arrived after them seemingly without pain and sat calmly in the ED and looked like just mild cases.
My child had to lie down as the cramps got worse sitting but as I understand it, the triage who was there treated them very disrespectfully and told them that their heart was fine and they didn’t have anything serious then questioned whether it was an emergency! As if my child went there for a holiday! I my opinion, how rude!
I believe my child's heart and breathing were affected also at the time . Then I feel the nurse was rude also . They didn’t do any ultrasound or scans to check properly and didn’t give any diagnosis besides a few guesses of what the problem might be and let my child go hours later under heavy pain medication. In my opinion, ED is shameful.
