"Standout recovery nurse"

About: Busselton Health Campus / Surgical Services

(as the patient),

I attended Busselton Hospital for minor surgery and everyone was polite and generic in the tick box approach required for this procedure. The stand out in the whole process was the recovery nurse who on waking came close, touched my hand, looked at me as a human and said I was ok and did I need anything. This few seconds of interaction of pure kindness in a situation  when you are most vulnerable, is invaluable to our health system. I can only hope that caring and kindness is valued in the system at least equally to all the tick boxes.
