Our son was recently admitted to the PECC unit at POWH. This was an extremely distressing time for us all. Throughout each stage of his admission from ED to PECC, each staff member displayed incredible compassion and care for us all. Everyone took time to talk and explain. We found the care was overwhelmingly 'person focused'. This was the first admission for our son, and we have all had such a positive experience. We cannot praise the team enough.
An enormous thank you to the NUM Nicole for her support. The nursing staff Ray and Aileen who's kindness and care was incredible, and the Registrar Amy. I feel mental health services, particularly PECC and the community services, do not receive enough recognition for the wonderful work they do and service they provide. Especially in an apparently extraordinarily under resourced and challenging field of healthcare. Please forward our gratitude to the NUM Nicole and her team.
