About: Albany Health Campus / Maternity Ward

(as the patient),

First of all when we fell pregnant we had only heard great things about the Albany Maternity Ward, which made us feel confident going forward.

Throughout my pregnancy every time I called maternity ward I felt they always had time, patience and understanding for me and never made me feel like anything was too small to call about. Everyone I spoke with was always warm and friendly and so calm.

When I went into labour I felt I was supported with any decision we made and encouraged to use whatever resources helped me. A number of times our babies heart rate dropped and the midwife acted accordingly and quickly, I was kept informed as to what was happening in a calm and comforting way advising the scenarios that could unfold.  The medical team, Dr, anaesthetist, midwife’s and nurses all allowed me to try my best to birth naturally but in the end I required a caesarean, where my support team of mum and husband were allowed in there with me. I found the level of care that followed throughout my stay was incredible and my husband was allowed to stay a couple of nights to help support me through those nights that were hard to get sleep and learn how to breastfeed. All our needs were fulfilled above and beyond expectations - thank you!

To every single midwife and nurse on maternity ward and the theatre team I saw at Albany Health Campus you are appreciated more than you know, the level of care we experienced throughout our pregnancy, birth and postnatal journey has been incredible and absolutely outstanding! We could not have done it without all of you with everyone’s unique way of supporting us we are truly blessed. We cannot thank you all enough individually and as a team for your support, dedication and encouragement.

A special shout out to Tanya who was so strong and supportive throughout the challenges that our birth experience threw at us we are truly proud of our unique birth and would not of changed a thing. Also to Bruce with his patience and persistence in assisting my baby and I on our challenging breastfeeding journey. We cannot thank all of you enough for our greatest gift of all, our happy and healthy baby and an incredible birth experience.

Dear falcondz66

Thank you for your lovely feedback, we have shared it with the team and the Hospital’s executive as well as directly with Tanya and Bruce.

We are pleased to know that our staff were so supportive of your birth plan, working with you to pursue a natural birth and preparing you for your successful caesarean section.

We hope you and your family continue to be happy and well.

Hi Tash

Thank you for your response and happy it has been passed on! I also forgot to add that we were also extremely grateful that even though it was an unplanned caesarean we were still give a solid 4 hours skin to skin as soon as baby was checked over literally minutes after our baby was born! And that we left hospital feeling confident as parents as we did not feel rushed or kicked out prematurely- thank you for everyone’s patience and guidance with us.
