"Stay in hospital"

About: Albany Health Campus / Mental Health Unit

(as the patient),

I was an involuntary patient in the locked psych ward of albany hospital, it was sad and scary , I was experiencing a manic episode and had chosen to stop my medication . As such I needed to stay until I was stable this took over 3 weeks. It was a very long and upsetting process but i felt very cared for by the staff and am in the community and feeling better now  .it was very unfortunate that it had to happen but the level of care provided was excellent

Thank you

Dear Truthe

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I am sorry to hear that you were unwell, however, gaining assistance from a specialist mental health service is the best way forward when experiencing an acute mental health episode.

I am delighted to hear you’re feeling better now and back in the community.

Your feedback will be shared with the Acute Psychiatric Unit team and agreed, they provide excellent mental health care for those in need.

Thanks again, we really appreciate hearing from our clients on their experiences.

Yours sincerely

Matt Wells
