"Poor service in maternity wards"

About: Fiona Stanley Hospital / Antenatal Clinic, Birth Suite, Maternal Fetal Assessment Unit, Obstetrics and Gynaecology Unit, Wards 3B, 3C, 3D, 3DO, Visiting Midwife Service

(as a carer),

My partner had a baby recently and we couldn’t wait to get out of the hospital, I believe we had one of the worst experiences in the public health systems so far. 

Apart from the timely food I felt everything else was a disaster. It seemed severely understaffed, under resourced. Though the nurses are doing their best to accomodate us I found it takes forever for them to show up. Sometimes it took close to 3 hours to fulfil a request like simple medication.

Congratulations on the addition of your newest family member. I hope that your partner and baby are doing well at home.

I am sorry that you feel your overall experience was not good. Our maternity ward is large and busy however we do strive to provide optimal care and treatment to all of our mothers, babies and their families.
