"Not being able to move leg"

About: Kununurra Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I woke up unable to have any muscle or skeletal control from one of my legs down.

Told the emergency doctor my concerns with previous medical history.

Was dismissed and I believe I was sent home with the wrong footwear for my condition.

GP in Perth requested an ultrasound. 1 week later from the ultrasound report still hasn't been done from kununurra hospital.

Had to go in to ask to send my gp my discharge summary a few days later as it seemingly wasn't done in a timely manner.

In my opinion, nice staff, poor service.

Dear Kaizp,

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments on the Care Opinion website. I am very sorry to hear about your experience at Kununurra District Hospital.

I hope you are making a good recovery from your condition.

Your post raises very serious concerns, and we would be very keen to investigate this further.

I would be very grateful if you could contact our Senior Medical Officer, Dr Marg Sturdy, by email at ek.smo@health.wa.gov.au.

This will allow us to fully investigate the circumstances and make sure we have the right processes in place to prevent any future similar issues.

Kind Regards,

Pattie Scott
