"Scooter was donated to me, HARP Occupational Therapist"

About: Eastern Health

(as the patient),

I had been assessed by Karen for a scooter and put on a waiting list for funding from SWEP. I knew I would have a wait of up to two years.

Two days after Christmas, Karen arrived at my door. I knew she was trying to get my scooter escalated as I was house bound.

She told me a scooter was coming and will arrive in 10 minutes.

Sure enough a truck arrived with a scooter that had been donated from someone who did not need it any more

Dear DJP

First of all, please accept my profuse and sincere apologies DJP for our delay in responding to your fantastic feedback on such wonderful service.

As I was reviewing all of our stories (more than 200) on Patient Opinion, I was horrified to come across your feedback and realise that a response had not been sent.

We take great pride in responding to all feedback within 24 hours and it was only by chance that I came across your story, which I had read previously but clearly, we had not responded to it. I am so sorry.

Anyway, what a terrific story (and a later than expected Christmas present!) and so pleased that Karen could arrange this for you.

I will pass on your feedback and I do hope that your mobility has improved with the arrival of the scooter too.

Kind regards and thanks again, Alan Lilly.
