"Pilates classes with Inner South Community Health."

About: Star Health - Mitford St

(as the patient),

I have recently been attending Pilates classes at Inner South Community Centre. I am a new convert to Pilates and find the physiotherapist, who conducts the class, encouraging and interested in the attendees. Apart from being clinically skilled Nicky has the personality to get the most out of those attending her classes. The sad part of these classes, aimed at improving the health and well being of the community, is that they are run on a fortnightly basis. I am not convinced that 3/4hr every two weeks is the optimum level of exercise required for good health nor rehabilitation from an acute disability. The supervision is paramount in this form of activity ie Pilates. Would management please review. I presume I will be told that staffing and financial constraints restrict further classes being programme done!

Thank you for your feedback and comments re your attendance at the Pilates class and it is great to hear that this is having improved health benefits for you.

As you have indicated that you would prefer more regular classes and that weekly would be more beneficial, I would suggest that you discuss your needs with the Physiotherapist and see what options are available for you.

Thank you Damian Ferrie for your response. I will discuss with the physiotherapist the possibility of her programming more frequent, ideally weekly Pilates classes. I guess with most government departments staffing and financial constraints may be a problem in extending this service. If the physiotherapist is not in a position to give more time to this community activity, are you able to pursue my request further? Thank you.
