"How was my stay at Logan House?"

About: Logan House Residential Rehabilitation Facility

(as a service user),

I was a very sick broken women that had lost everything that meant the world to me. I came into Logan House desperately needing help with my drug addiction. Since being here I had the support around me that I needed to make me feel that I was worth being here on this earth. I have learnt that being in guilt of any situation you need to move that into shame to move on with what ever that situation was. I've learnt about vulnerability, forgiveness, value of anger, harshness vs compassion, healthy relationships, self-sabotage, gratitude and grief and loss - and there is so much more you can learn from this place, as they give you the decision about what you would like to work on. Being here has given me a second chance of life it has taught me that it was Ok to let my walls down. I was safe here. I had trouble with tone and delivery of my body language said it all. When I would not be in the right head space assertive communication was a massive thing to try and get right, but with the support of staff and my counsellor and psychologist have helped me get through those behaviours. I would have to say it has brought me out of my comfort zone of getting out into the community and get to know other peers who have the same addiction. I've learnt something from each person in the community and I am not alone out there. I would have to say that PUP Program (Parents Under Pressure Program) has been a big part of my program here. I've got three beautiful kids that have been recently put into care before I had come to Logan House the Parents Under Pressure Program has shown me how to look at situations when I'm involved with my kids. How to be a better mother that my kids deserve and the mother I deserve to be. There's no right or wrong about any situation you get yourself into as long as you know that you can turn it into a positive. I can't thank Logan House enough for the support they've given me through my journey in recovery. I give this place 10/10.
