"Home call doctors in Brisbane"

About: GPs in the Petrie Electoral District House Call Doctor

(as the patient),

Came down with the flu a couple of weeks ago then I started to get better. The flu came back worse so I ended up calling a house call doctor. I waited around 5 hours before being seen (at 10pm and calling at around 4: 45pm) with no ETA of when they were coming until 9: 45pm. They showed up and were there for less than three minutes. The doctor's 'body guard' guy wanted my Medicare card straight up before anything. They did a check on my lungs and had a quick look at my throat and said to take panadol and vitamin c with the other vitamins I had been taking already (which I was already doing). I tried telling them what was going on but they were not interested and when I mentioned that there was blood in with my boogers, he said that it was ok and I just need to rest and take pain killers and vitamin c. He offered to give me a medical certificate for the following day, but I said I don't work that day, but might need one for the day after, but refused to do one.

I went to another doctor today (two days later - still pretty sick and had to take the day off), he was much better! Listened to everything I had to say, checked everything and found that I probably had the flu to begin with, then got a cold when I was getting better. He also found I had tonsillitis and gave me antibiotics and checked my eye for a bit of conjunctivitis (yay) which he also gave me a script for!

Over all I recommend not using the house doctor service since they're more interested in making money over actually helping patients and well done to the actual doctor who actually did his job!
