"Joondalup Hospital"

About: Joondalup Health Campus / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I recently took my child to the hospital emergency dept. My child had a fever, eye pain, a rash and felt nauseous. I was worried about meningococcal. I spent an hour before finally going in at 1: 30 am. A nurse saw us then, took notes. Then for 2 hours nobody came to check up on my little one. When I attempted to find out how much longer, I was told they had a busy night and couldn't tell me. There was a baby behind a curtain who was getting spinal fluid tested for meningococcal also, crying for 2 hours and yet not isolated! They finally took the baby behind glass doors 2 hours later. There were no precautions against spreading taken. Finally, I got upset and took my child home at 4 am. I've had enough of being ignored. Healthcare Direct made it sound serious when I rang, and these people just blew me off. It was belittling and awful. Zero care or sensitivity.
