"Birth at the Angliss Hospital, Ferntree Gully"

About: Angliss Hospital

(as the patient),

I wanted to share my experience of my recent birth at the Angliss. I was booked in for elective caesarean as my baby was breech and spent 3 nights in hospital.

My circumstances were different to most as I had only arrived in Australia from overseas at 33 weeks pregnant and was very worried about having a baby in a new country and I wasn't sure how the care was or how things worked here.

Also we were very alone as there is only my partner and other child here, we don't have any family or close friends.

My care in the Angliss was amazing. I wish I could remember the names of every single member of medical staff and the midwives who looked after me, but they were so kind and understanding. They helped me by explaining every step, constantly monitoring my pain and how I was generally. But they also went above my care and would take care of my little one helping me to recover quickly.

I could see they were so busy racing from one person to another, but they never made me feel rushed. When they were with me they made me feel like they had plenty of time to help me or just listen if I was worried.

I would say the care I received was way above any hospital, either public or private in my home country or Oz. I can't thank them enough for the care and support.

Thank you

Dear Job

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide your lovely feedback on Patient Opinion. I was so pleased to read your experience was so positive and the staff clearly demonstrated the Eastern Health value of kindness.

The team do an amazing job each and every day and it will give me much pleasure to share your feedback with them. We recently celebrated the 100,000th birth at Angliss Hospital so they have been providing great care for many years (and will for many more!).

I trust you are settling into a routine at home with your new baby and you and your family are able to celebrate the joys each and every day.

Take care Job and kind regards

David
