"Antenatal appointment."

About: Lyell McEwin Hospital

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter is pregnant and has mental health issues. I am disappointed at the service she got at the Lyell McEwin Hospital today. Even though she had an appointment at a designated time, she was told to take a number. She said, I have an appointment. They said it doesn't matter. Two hours later she was stressed and having a panic attack. In my opinion, this is not good service, especially if they don't give updates and keep you informed. Lyell McEwin Hospital is supposed to be top range. If this is their service, then not so top range. I advised her to walk away, but don't stress and to go back to the Women's Clinic where she got treated as a person not a number.

What is the point of waiting for an appointment date if she could have walked in any time and taken a number? She was not at an emergency room, she was at a doctor's appointment made for her two weeks prior. She was also told it would be an ultrasound, so her child came with her only to be told - oh no it's only a doctor's appointment. I don't believe this is good service at all. They were also told that she had mental health issues and panic attacks, but it seems nothing was taken into account. So disappointed in Lyell McEwin Hospital. This is the only place I could give feedback.
