"Further investigations?"

A friend was taken in via ambulance for possible appendicitis and had to wait a day and a bit in pain for ultrasound - just to be told that although they were not ruling out appendicitis (keeping in mind all the symptoms my friend had related) was sent home the same day as they did not investigate further or give any pain relief or anti nausea for at home. I believe going to a local GP as protocol would usually be if they suspect appendicitis and all symptoms accompany, then potentially followed by an appendectomy.

Having had a previous experience with a loved one, whereby I believe my loved one is lucky to be alive, I feel like there is no help from the hospital.
